Ruud Breuls

Ruud graduated in 1988 from the Conservatory of Amsterdam (formerly the Hilversum Conservatory). He won the Wessel Ilcken prize in Loosdrecht that same year. Since 1990 he has been a jazz trumpet teacher at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

He has already recorded many productions with Bob Brookmeyer, Vince Mendoza, Jim McNeely, Mike Abene, Mike Stern, Bob Mintzer, Joe Lovano, Jeff Beal, Kenny Barron, Ronny Cuber and Bill Holman. Ruud was also part of the 'Stylus Horns', the four-man horn section with, among others, Wim Both, who plays on the CDs of well-known Dutch artists (including Marco Borsato, René Froger, Gordon and Lee Towers).

Ruud currently works in the WDR Big Band in Germany.
